Woman with Pet DogWe Like Pets Too...

For the comfort, safety and security of all airport passengers and staff, all pets must be kept in airline-approved travelling kennels while inside the terminal building.

Why No Pets in the Terminal?

  • Some airport customers have allergies, other health concerns that may be aggravated by exposure to animals
  • Some customers experience fear or anxiety when exposed to animals
  • Specially trained police and service/guide dogs need to be able do their jobs unimpeded
  • This policy is consistent with most international airports around the world
Edmonton International Airport is happy to be able to offer two dog runs accessible from the arrivals level:
  • Outside Door #1 to the north
  • Outside the northwest corner of the parkade (near metered parking and Rendezvous) across from Door #3
Both areas are on grass and "mutt mitts" (biodegradable plastic bags) are provided on the side of the garbage cans for easy clean up and disposal.

Edmonton International Airport thanks pet owners for assisting us in fostering a customer-friendly atmosphere, while maintaining a safe and secure environment for everyone.
