Kidzworld Print Friendly

KidzworldTravelling with young children can be a challenge. Juggling luggage, diaper bags, snacks, and toys, not to mention kids, while trying to make your way through a busy airport can test even the most patient of parents.

Families are important to us and that’s why Edmonton International Airport (EIA) wants to create a great airport experience for the entire family. In 2007, EIA launched an exciting new program that will make us a leader in family-friendly airports – Kidzworld!

The centerpiece of Kidzworld is the construction of two new kids’ play areas. One is located post-security in the north end of the Departures Holdroom, and the other will be on Arrivals Level in Central Hall.

Designed for children ages 2 to 12, these play areas encourage creative play with kid-sized ticket counters, a play plane to climb in and slide out of, and a tower to climb up on. Seating will be available for parents and additional FIDS screens will be installed nearby so parents can easily check their flight times without leaving children unattended.

The Kidzworld program also includes existing family-friendly services at EIA – packaging and promoting them so people travelling with young children can make the most of our family-friendly airport. Watch for the new Kidzworld brochure.
