- Transport Canada is responsible for the safety and security of travellers on the ground and in the air. It also sets and enforces the standards for airport and airline operations.
- Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA) is responsible for screening all passengers, personnel and their belongings at the airport.
- Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) manages the movement of people and goods into Canada.
- Royal Canadian Mounted Police is responsible for policing Edmonton International Airport; EIA has its own RCMP detachment.
