Terminal Expansion

In 2007, EIA served more than six million passengers flying to over 50 non-stop destinations in Canada, the United States, Mexico, the Caribbean and Europe. Now we’re set to serve nine million passengers by 2012.

To accommodate these growing needs, EIA plans to spend $1.1 billion on our airport expansion project that will add gates, build a new passenger concourse, and expand parking. As well, Concord Hospitality will soon begin construction on a 216-plus-room hotel that will connect by walkway to the north terminal.

TERMINAL EXPANSION
The expansion will add a net 13 gates to the terminal, boosting the number of gates to 30, from the current 17. It will include expanded food and beverage and retail services themed to offer a comfortable sense of place.

PARKING EXPANSION

The combined parking capacity at EIA is almost 8,000 stalls, and we’re rapidly building more for your convenience. In addition to the 2,000 new Value Park stalls built over the past two years, construction is nearing completion on a 1,000-stall parkade, slated to open in 2008.

Once the parkade expansion is complete (summer 2008), construction of a new 4,000-stall parking area is planned. We’re working to keep pace with passenger demand while adding new and improved parking services and amenities for your convenience.
