Parking nears capacity, overflow lot open Print Friendly

With the busy Spring Break travel season in high gear, Value Park and Parkade Park at Edmonton International Airport (EIA) are nearing capacity; however, we have ample overflow parking. Watch for overflow parking signage when arriving at the airport.

Parking customers are encouraged to arrive 30 minutes prior to recommended airline check-in times and check parking availability before leaving for the airport.

For the latest parking information, call the EIA parking hotline at (780) 890-6720 or check for updates here. EIA does not take parking reservations.

To save time leaving the parking areas, parking customers can now pay for Value Park and Parkade after they pick up their luggage by using one of four new parking Pay ā€˜n’ Go stations in the airport terminal. Five new express exits have been designated for customers who use the terminal pay stations or pay by credit card.

Overflow parking customers pay upon entry into those lots.

Ground transportation options

As an alternative to bringing vehicles to the airport, EIA customers can use a taxi service or use the Sky Shuttle service, which serves downtown, west end and university-area hotels. Sky Shuttle one-way rates are $15, with a discounted return fare of $25. Child (ages 3-12) fares are $7 each way.

Responding to growth

In the past three years, the number of passengers served by EIA has increased by nearly 50 per cent. To keep pace with parking demand that has even outstripped passenger increases, EIA has more than doubled its parking capacity from 3,600 stalls in 2005 to the current 7,540 stalls.

Another 800 stalls will open once the parkade expansion is complete this summer and construction of a new 4,000-stall parking area is planned to start later this year. EIA has the most parking per capita of any major airport in Canada.
